Acai bowls are Dave’s new love language. I swear I could accidentally set his most prized possession on fire but if I made an acai bowl, he would forgive me in a heartbeat.

The local Sambazon Cafe makes the yummiest peanut butter bowl but at $10 a pop, I decided, surely, I could make these suckers at home. Sure enough, it’s easy-peasy to do and SO YUM.

These are very much a SoCal thing so I’m not sure how widely available the frozen acai packs are, but take a look in the freezer section of your grocery store (with the frozen fruit) because these are worth it. I found Sambazon frozen acai packs at Whole Foods, Sprouts and Costco.

Cocoa Peanut Butter Acai Bowl

2 frozen acai superfruit packs (sweetened or unsweetened ones, totally depending on your preference for sweetness)

1/2 frozen banana (I slice bananas and freeze them to have on hand at all times)

1/4 cup milk of your choice

2 tsp. cocoa powder

2 Tbsp. peanut butter

Put all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Immediately spoon into two bowls and top with granola, strawberries, bananas, peanut butter, etc.

Eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner or all three!
