Just as I drifted off to sleep last night…

MOMMY!!!!!!!!!!

I stumbled into Hope’s room.

Mommy! There is a spider in my bed!!!

We turned on the light, looked under the covers, got reassured that there was no spider and got tucked back into bed.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s moving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What’s moving?

The chicken!!!

Hope, that is your teddy bear!

Repeat light, covers, tucking back into bed.

Mommy! Don’t turn off the light. I’m scared!

The light stayed on.

I decided to give sleep another try. Seemed like I had just drifted off for the second time in my warm, comfy bed when…

MOMMY!!!!!!!!!!

My tummy hurts!!!! I want to be rocked.

I picked Hope up and noticed that she felt hot.

So, we found the thermometer and took her temperature. 101. Uh oh.

This time I decided that my bed could wait and instead set up pillows and blankets on the floor next to Hope’s bed. Quite surprisingly the floor was not too bad.

Morning finally came and poor Hope was sick. She threw up four times and has spent most of the day laying on the floor, the bed, the couch, etc.

I did manage to put her in the car–with a bucket–and drove down to Starbucks.

Thank you Starbucks for the liquid caffeine in the form of a Peppermint Mocha that got me through this morning!
