I wrote this post a couple of weeks ago and then forgot to publish it. I could write a long list of things I have forgotten lately!

My in-laws like Guy Fieri’s Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. So, for my father-in-law’s birthday dinner, we went to Hob Nob Hill, a restaurant featured on Guy’s show.

Our thoughts? The caramelized onion tart was very yummy. The loaded potato skins were good. My chicken and dumplings were good but not the best. They were more like chicken and gravy over biscuits, not southern gooey dumplings. NY Grandma said that her liver and onions were cooked perfectly. Wes and Dave got turkey sandwiches and said they were OK. NY Grandpa ordered a burger. Wes liked his strawberry cheesecake and NY Grandpa and I loved our raspberry cobbler ala modes. NY Grandma thought her carrot cake was too sweet.

Our waitress was very nice and funny so that added a lot to our meal.

It was a fun experience and nice to have an adult dinner. I’d have to say I give the restaurant a B for pretty good.
