What Are Your Summer Plans? [This post is part of an ongoing blog series to get to know each other better. Have you read and participated in the other “More About You Monday” questions?] *** More About You Monday is happening on Tuesday this week. Sometimes life just happens! So, today’s question is: What are your plans for the summer? Any exciting trips? Big decisions? More of the same? We have no specific plans for the summer except to move here (San Diego) By Lana|2021-07-08T21:45:56-07:00June 14th, 2011|Community, Lana's Journal|14 Comments Share This Story, Choose Your Platform! She had reconstructive foot surgery last Tuesday, and is non weight-bearing for the rest of the summer. It’s tough for a 13 year old, and it’s interesting to discover what stores, restaurants and sidewalks are truly wheelchair accessible! We’re trying to make an adventure out of it, somehow :-0 We’re going to the Taylor Swift concert on Saturday, and Heinz Field told us to ask for Guest Relations when we arrive. They plan to take care of us! Yay! Sandi June 14, 2011 at 3:06 pm I am thankful that I don’t work outside the home in the summer, besides performing music. I can spend time with Lori, and my 3 boys are all home too 🙂 I cherish the time that we’re all together! Lana June 15, 2011 at 12:31 pm Hi Sandi! We will be praying that Lori heals quickly. Have FUN at the Taylor Swift concert! monica Gaithersburg~NY June 14, 2011 at 12:12 pm I’m borrowing my niece & nephew for a week & taking them to NY. I’m also going to the beach for a week with my friend & her 3 children. Then Labor Day weekend off to the Twins convention in Branson. love, hugs & prayers, monica 🙂 Lana June 15, 2011 at 12:31 pm Have fun Monica! 🙂 Diane June 14, 2011 at 1:38 pm We will be doing some traveling this summer. My oldest is doing an internship in London so I plan to go visit him for his birthday. Then it is off to Florida for two weeks for a family ( and some friends too!) vacation. Yesterday I booked a girls’ vacation for just Annie and me- we are off to Guatemala. She is making her Communion and I want to have her Communion gown made there. It will be a busy summer here for us with travel, doing some extra school work with the two littles and driving the teenager ( and his friends) around! I can’t wait! San Diego looks beautiful!!!! Lana June 15, 2011 at 12:32 pm Diane- you are quite the traveler! Have a wonderful time in London, Florida and Guatemala. Annie will be absolutely stunning in her Guatemalan Communion gown. Texas Grandma June 14, 2011 at 3:18 pm I think I’ve already done enough to fill a summer! So now my plans are to: 1. Find and focus on what God has planned for me this summer 2. Stay home and relax 3. Paint a room 4. Write 5. Take Kevin somewhere special for his 30th birthday 6. Have the Lady Gs (women’s game playing group) over for food and games 7. Finish reading “Crazy Love” and “The Everlasting Man” and read some other good books 8. Simplify my home and life so I can have more time with kids and grandkids 9. Eat healthy food 10.Pray for God’s direction, wisdom, and grace in all the above Lana June 15, 2011 at 12:33 pm Mom, you are going to be busy! You could wait until the fall and take Kevin to Legoland. 🙂 Texas Grandma June 15, 2011 at 5:20 pm Great idea! Actually, he wants to go to the Mexican food restaurant on Timberland. Good choice. Uh-oh! I replied on wrong comment. Legoland was the great idea. Not sunscreen. debbie June 14, 2011 at 7:07 pm We just got back from a Disney trip, which was our big vacation for the year. Whew, what an…….adventure! Yeh, that’s the word for it. We did have a lot of fun mixed in with the adventure part. The rest of the summer will be similar to yours. Packing up and moving, but just across town for us. We’ll make little trips to the zoo, the beach and a few weekends of camping. Our favorite things to do in the summer. When are you moving? Ah, San Diego, lot’s of sunshine : ) You’ll love it. You should buy stock in sunscreen now. Lana June 15, 2011 at 12:34 pm Debbie, glad you had an adventure at Disney! 🙂 We are hoping to move next month. Dave will be looking for a rental next week. Lana June 15, 2011 at 12:34 pm P.S. I bought a LOT of sunscreen last year with left-over FSA money. We are good to go! Texas Grandma June 15, 2011 at 5:18 pm Great idea! Actually, he wants to go to the Mexican food restaurant on Timberland. Good choice. Comments are closed.
